The Elm Park Recreation Association organizes a diverse number of programs throughout the summer:
- Swim Lessons. Elm Park Pool uses the Pointe Claire Olympic Way lesson levels to teach our children to swim. Swimming lessons are available for all levels of swimmers including adults (Masters). - Swim Team. The Elm Park Pool swim team is a fantastic way to get involved with the pool and stay in shape throughout the summer. The fun filled program offers 5 day/week practices to beginners through to expert level swimmers. Practices include technique as well as endurance training for ages 7 and up (this is a suggested age). Competitions are held once a week, and all levels of swimmers are encouraged to participate. - Diving. The program offers a broad range of activities from lessons to competitive events. With practices held once to three times a week and weekly competitions for the team, Elm Park Pool’s diving program is sure to spark an interest in many pool members. - Synchro. Our synchro program offers a wide range of lessons and team events. Girls are placed on teams (competitive and non-competitive) based on age and skill level, and they are taught the necessary techniques and a short routine to popular music. Competitive teams participate in up to two competitions near the end of the summer. This is a great way for the girls to acquire greater flexibility and strength, and to develop their team spirit. - Water polo. With a basic swimming background as the only pre-requisite, all ages are welcome to join in the fun of participating in Elm Park Pool’s growing water polo teams. With 12 and under, 14 and under as well as 16 and under teams, everyone can benefit from the twice weekly practices and all participants are encouraged to join in the weekly competitions. - Leaders and Junior Leaders. Elm Park Pool’s leaders (ages 13-16) and junior leaders (ages 10-12) programs are perfect for kids looking to get more involved in supporting the pool and its activities and to have lots of fun in the process! Fundraisers, various activities and taking on new responsibilities are all a part of this program. [More]
- Aquafitness. For the adults who want to stay in shape all summer, aquafitness is offered in the mornings. Check the pool for the schedule. [More]
- Fitness well-being classes inspired by yoga. Isabel Kafesdjian offers fitness well-being EPRA classes inspired by yoga to Elm members and non-members alike, all year round. Isabel is a certified teacher since 2017. She wants to share her passion and the joy of mind & body exercises with others. She offers indoor classes at the Elm Chalet, at 530 Montcalm in DDO. She’s passionate about empowering and inspiring people with transformational exercises to live more vibrant, healthy lives, in mind, body and spirit, one pose and one breath at a time. Come join the upcoming January 2023 session beginning on Tuesday Jan 10th through March 28th (No class on Feb 28th for March break) and benefit from all the well-being practice she has to offer! Classes are offered on Tuesday Nights from 7pm to 8 pm. The 11 week session fee is $110. Drop-Ins welcome at $12 per class. Contact info@elmparkpool.com for more information.
- Brissa’s Magical Moments Classes: From birth to 3 years old, Parent and Tot classes encourage and promote hands on exploration, socialization, early childhood experiences and enhances growth and development of basic life skills. Classes offered include: (1) Creative Beginnings for 3 months to 12 months old babies.
